Transportes Nieves participates in Fruit Attraction 2026 as one of the 24 companies from the port community accompanying the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) at IFEMA Madrid. The company incorporates into the delegation a structure that combines customs representation, transportation with its own fleet, and storage of dry, refrigerated, and frozen goods, with a specific activity for horticultural products.
One of the main areas of work for the company is found in the corridor between Morocco and southern Spain. Nieves points out that daily, goods destined for human consumption, including fruits, vegetables, fish, and seafood are channeled from Tangier Med to Algeciras, Málaga, and Motril, for which it develops the corresponding customs procedures.
The company has also structured a specific line for the horticultural sector under the name Total Fruit. This service includes goods from both Africa — with origins such as Morocco, Senegal, or Egypt — and South American markets, including Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. Avocado, mango, banana, strawberry, onion, pepper, potato, and apple are among the products included in this activity.
The management of the cold chain constitutes one of the components of this offer. Nieves has services for dry, refrigerated, and frozen storage, temperature-controlled transportation, and order preparation, along with its own fleet of trucks. The company also has warehouses in Algeciras, Ceuta, Málaga, and Melilla.
In the case of Algeciras, the company has a second facility in the Logistics Activity Zone of El Fresno, in Los Barrios, in addition to its office on Virgen del Carmen avenue. Its logistics structure also includes facilities with ADT and LAME authorizations in Málaga and Algeciras, intended for operations subject to customs control.
Customs representation completes this operation. Nieves handles import and export clearances for trucks and containers, transit regimes, and various procedures associated with foreign trade. Among the services it publishes are the procedures before SOIVRE, phytosanitary checks, External Health, Veterinary, CITES, and other agencies that intervene based on the nature of the goods.
For horticultural products from third countries, these functions allow coordinating within the same structure transportation, customs documentation, the corresponding official controls, and, when necessary, temperature-controlled storage before the load continues to its destination.
The relationship with Morocco has a specific weight within the operator's activity. In addition to the traffic of fruits and vegetables, Nieves works in this corridor with meats, frozen goods, fish, seafood, and other goods. The company links its services for this market to the combination of customs management, land transportation, and storage and cold capacity.
Its network in the southern peninsula also allows it to handle operations through different ports. Nieves maintains a presence in Algeciras, Motril, and Málaga, along with delegations in La Línea, Ceuta, and Melilla, while its international services include maritime transportation in container and ro-ro, land transportation in groupage and full load, and air operations.
This combination places the company at different points of the same horticultural operation: from the arrival of a truck from Morocco and its clearance in Algeciras to refrigerated storage and subsequent land distribution, or the management of loads arriving in containers from other international markets.
Nieves thus integrates into the offer that the port community of Algeciras presents this week at Fruit Attraction. The APBA goes to Madrid with an infrastructure that exceeds 5,500 connections for reefer containers in its two terminals and a combined capacity of over 30,000 pallets in refrigerated terminals and logistics areas close to the port.
Within that network, Nieves provides services that cover transportation, storage, cold, and customs, with a special presence in the flow of food products that connects Morocco with the Port of Algeciras and from there with markets in southern Spain and other European destinations.
