Marítima del Estrecho participates in Fruit Attraction 2026 as one of the 24 companies from the port community that accompany the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) at IFEMA Madrid. The company attends the fair with an offer that combines land, maritime, and air transportation, customs representation, and comprehensive logistics services, with special application to the traffic of perishable products that use Algeciras as a point of entry, exit, or connection.
Refrigerated transportation is expressly part of its land services. Marítima del Estrecho works with refrigerated trucks, full loads, national and international groupages, and door-to-door operations, in addition to having coverage throughout the Peninsula, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla, and a network of correspondents for international traffic.
This capacity allows intervention in fruit and vegetable chains where the product continues by road after its arrival at the port, or conversely, needs to reach Algeciras while maintaining the necessary thermal conditions before its shipment. The combination of land and maritime transportation allows adjusting the operation to short-distance flows in the Strait and to longer international chains.
The second component of Marítima del Estrecho's proposal lies in customs management. The group provides services as a customs representative and has certification as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO). Its activity includes import and export clearances for maritime, air, and land goods, transits, special regimes, links to deposits, fiscal representation, and advice on foreign trade.
This operation has a direct application to agri-food goods from third countries. When a shipment is subject to official controls, the customs representative can manage the documentation and attend to the requirements associated with External Health, Animal Health, Plant Health, or SOIVRE, in addition to accompanying the procedures arising from a possible physical inspection.
The company also has more than 12,000 square meters of warehouses between Málaga and Algeciras, where it offers different customs figures for goods that need to remain under control before their definitive importation, export, or transit. This capacity connects the documentary phase with subsequent storage and distribution services.
In Algeciras, the comprehensive logistics division operates from the Isla Verde Dock, within the port area itself. This location allows directly linking storage and logistics operations with maritime traffic and with the land movements that enter or leave the port.
For an agri-food shipment, this structure allows coordinating different stages within the same chain: arrival by maritime or land route, customs clearance, official controls when necessary, storage, and subsequent distribution. In loads that require controlled temperature, refrigerated transportation allows maintaining the product's conditions during the subsequent land leg or prior to its passage through the port.
The relationship with Morocco also occupies a specific space in Marítima del Estrecho's current activity. The company has linked its participation in Fruit Attraction 2026 to the traffic Spain-Morocco, import and export operations, customs transits, and perishable and horticultural products channeled through the Port of Algeciras.
This corridor allows addressing goods that arrive by the Strait connections in trucks or semi-trailers and that, after completing the corresponding procedures in Algeciras, continue to other peninsular or European destinations. The group's network in Ceuta and Melilla also adds capacity to manage supplies and movements of goods between the Peninsula and both territories.
Participation in Fruit Attraction thus incorporates to the joint offer of the APBA an operator that combines refrigerated transportation, customs management, and storage. Unlike companies specialized only in one of these stages, Marítima del Estrecho covers different phases of the operation from its logistics structure in Algeciras and its network of national and international transportation.
