How well connected ports are to the world

The more regular container services and shipping lines call at a port, the better connected it is to world trade. The UN (UNCTAD) measures this every quarter: Q3 2026 has data for 929 ports and 178 economies; here, with a close focus on Spain and the Strait of Gibraltar.
