Baleària has more than 7,000 linear meters per week of capacity for transporting refrigerated goods between the Canary Islands and the Peninsula, as part of the logistical offer that the company is presenting these days at Fruit Attraction, which is being held in Madrid. The shipping company participates in the horticultural fair with its own space in pavilion 4, where it holds meetings with logistics operators and companies linked to the movement of perishable products.

The operation has more than 480 electrical connections on board the three ships servicing these traffics. These sockets allow the refrigerated units to remain connected during navigation and manage the transport of agri-food products that require controlled temperature conditions, among them the Canary banana and other perishable goods.

The company had detailed last June the configuration of its connections between Cádiz and the Canary Islands, with four weekly services operated by three ships. Two of them are exclusively dedicated to cargo and each makes one rotation, while the third combines the transport of passengers and goods and makes two trips.

Within this schedule is the Josefina de la Torre, incorporated into the connections with the archipelago at the end of June. The ship has capacity for 4,000 linear meters of cargo, equivalent to about 280 trucks, and has 230 electrical sockets intended for refrigerated units. It is 209 meters long and operates alongside the Villa de Tazacorte, also exclusively dedicated to goods, and the passenger and cargo ferry Volcán de Tinamar.

According to the schedule communicated by Baleària Canarias, these services allow linking Cádiz with Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria three times a week, while Santa Cruz de La Palma and Arrecife have two weekly connections. The configuration is aimed at both the general movement of rolling cargo and the transport needs of agri-food and perishable products between the archipelago and the Peninsula.

Baleària's participation in Fruit Attraction also serves to present Baleària Logística, the new structure under which the company has grouped the capabilities of Baleària CARGUA, Hermes Logística, and Transportes Intercanarios. The project integrates maritime and land transport services with the aim of offering a joint management of the logistical operations of goods.

The cargo activity constitutes a relevant part of the group's operations. Baleària reported in June that during 2025 it transported 8,392 million linear meters of goods across all its routes, 10% more than during the previous year.
