TheMinistry of Transport and Sustainable Mobilityhas tendered, throughAdif, the contract for theinstallation of the energy remote control systemin the sectionRonda-Algeciras, belonging to the railway lineBobadilla-Algeciras. The bidding budget amounts to10.64 million euros.
The action will allowto control remotely and in real timethe equipment related to the supply, transport, and consumption of electric energy through the catenary, the system that provides electricity to the trains. This aims toimprove the reliability and operability of the infrastructure, ensuring the proper functioning of the rail service.
The installations covered by the contract will be deployed along106 kilometers of routein the provinces of Málaga and Cádiz, passing through the municipalities ofRonda,Arriate,Benaoján,Jimera de Líbar,Cortés de la Frontera,Gaucín,Jimena de la Frontera,Castellar de la Frontera,San Roque,Los BarriosandAlgeciras.
The contract will be developed intwo differentiated phases. The first will consist of theexecution of the works, with an estimated duration of24 months. Subsequently, a second phase dedicated to thepreventive and corrective maintenance of the installations for another 24 months.
