Logistika 360 has taken on the organization and direction of the launching project of two vessels destined for the Customs Surveillance Service of the State Agency for Tax Administration (AEAT), an operation developed at the Menoco dock, adjacent to the TTI Algeciras terminal, within the Port of Algeciras.
The operation required planning of the different phases of the maneuver and on-site coordination of the participating human and technical resources. Logístika 360 has been responsible for arranging the necessary device to move the two units to their floating position, in an operation conditioned by the dimensions of the vessels and the need to synchronize the different teams involved.
Alongside Logístika 360, Eurogruúas participated, responsible for the hoisting; Boluda Corporación Marítima; Work Boats; Remesa/Tincasur Sur; and the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA), which enabled the space and necessary permits to conduct a maneuver of this nature. From Logístika 360 itself, gratitude has been expressed for the collaboration of all the companies involved and the technical personnel who made the launching of the vessels possible.
The vessels are approximately 38 meters long and are part of the cargo transported by the freighter 'Lila Mumbai', intercepted by Spanish authorities in August 2025 while navigating through the Strait of Gibraltar bound for Benghazi, Libya.
The case gained international attention due to the characteristics of the transported merchandise and the possible application of the embargo established by the United Nations on the supply of arms and material susceptible to military use to Libya. After its intervention, the freighter initially remained in Ceuta and was later transferred to the Port of Algeciras, where the vessels it carried on board were unloaded and the corresponding inspection and verification actions began.
The cargo consisted of ten naval units with different characteristics, including two vessels of about 38 meters, two landing boats, and six smaller patrol boats. The units had been built at Grandweld Shipyards in Dubai, and some bore the initials TBZ, linked in investigations about the cargo to Tariq Ben Zeyad, an armed Libyan group.
Spanish authorities kept the vessels under control in Algeciras while the actions related to the proceedings were being developed and it was analyzed whether the transported material could contravene the current international restrictions on Libya. The two largest units have since been provisionally assigned to Customs Surveillance due to their connection with the judicial procedure.
Their incorporation will allow these vessels to be used by the AEAT in maritime operations linked, among other functions, to the fight against drug trafficking and other illicit trades. It is expected that the two units will serve in the areas of the Canary Islands and Galicia, two spaces with significant activity for Customs maritime surveillance devices.
The launching carried out by Logístika 360 at TTI Algeciras concludes the port custody phase of these two units, which have remained immobilized in Algeciras for almost a year. The operation combined the work of crane operators, vessel technicians, and port personnel, with prior coordination as a determining element. The company has summed up its participation as an example of its working model: prior planning, real coordination on the ground, and operational capacity to direct complex maneuvers in a port environment.
