Cernaval Group will participate in Posidonia 2026, the largest international maritime fair, which will be held from June 1 to June 5 at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens. The shipyard in the Bay of Algeciras will be present at the stand 2.419 of Hall 2, integrated into the space of its exclusive agent in Greece, the naval brokerage firm BPCO LTD Ship Brokers, which has represented Cernaval's services in the Hellenic market since 2011. The stand will serve as a meeting point for shipowners, operators, technical fleet managers, and industry professionals to exchange ideas on trends reshaping the maritime industry, from digitalization to sustainability and operational innovation. BPCO has invited interested professionals to learn about Cernaval's naval repair services and explore collaboration opportunities by visiting its stand during the five days of the fair.
The Athenian event comes at a time of intense international activity for the Campogibraltareño group. In March of this year, Cernaval made its first move into the Asian market with its participation in Asia Pacific Maritime (APM), held in Singapore, where it was the only Spanish shipyard present. The company's sales director, Enrique Pérez, then described the presence at APM as "a turning point" in the shipyard's international strategy, where during the three days of the exhibition it held meetings with clients based in Singapore and Hong Kong in collaboration with its regional partner, Hanker Marine Engineering. Posidonia will therefore be the second international maritime fair with physical presence for Cernaval in 2026.
The shipyard, which has already participated in previous editions of Posidonia — in 2022 it positively assessed the contacts generated with more than 1,800 exhibitors from 88 countries — and has also attended other international events such as the Eastmed Exhibition and the IMPA in London, faces this new edition with the support of sustained workload in its facilities in Campamento (San Roque).
Greece is a priority market for the naval repair industry. Greek shipowners control 21% of the world's tonnage, with a fleet of 5,543 vessels, and account for nearly 70% of the European Union fleet in segments such as tankers, bulk carriers, and gas carriers. Posidonia, held every two years in Athens since 1969, is the meeting point of this ecosystem: in its 2024 edition, it brought together 2,038 exhibitors from 138 countries and welcomed 32,527 professional visitors, with total attendance exceeding 41,800 people. The fair is organized under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Island Policy, the Greek Shipping Chamber, and the Union of Greek Shipowners, and its program includes over 60 conferences and seminars on digital transformation, decarbonization, and operational innovation.
