The company APM Terminals has joined this week in several Spanish ports for Global Safety Day, an initiative aligned with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, focused this year on psychological safety as a key axis to prevent incidents and improve decision-making in complex operational environments.
Under the slogan "We Are Safer Together | Together we are safer", the company has developed a wide program of activities in its terminals in Algeciras, Barcelona, Valencia, and Gijón, involving employees, contractors, and transporters in actions aimed at reinforcing safe behaviors and a preventive culture.
1 of 4 In the Algeciras terminal, activities have spread throughout the week with workshops, field tours, and dynamics focused on critical tasks. The program included the participation of Patricia Campos Doménech, who offered a presentation on leadership, teamwork, and caring for people as pillars of shared safety.
For its part, in Barcelona, the sessions were developed in all three work shifts with participatory proposals that combine learning and practice. The intervention of Miguel Lozano stood out, addressing emotional management and mental control, in addition to the awarding of prizes for good preventive practices and various dynamics on critical risks.
In Gijón, the program combined reflection and direct action with a crane rescue drill and visits to operational areas to identify risks and promote learning in the work environment itself.
Finally, in Valencia, the session focused on continuous improvement and deep learning, with a conference by expert Manel Bestratén. In addition, an immersive training space called Dojo Safety was inaugurated, and practical workshops, drills, and analysis spaces on incidents and lessons learned were developed.
