The company uses the Barcelona meeting to convey to clients, shipping companies, and logistics operators the progress made in its Spanish terminals.
In Spain, APM Terminals' terminals are making advances in modernization processes aimed at providing greater capacity, efficiency, and predictability to clients and logistics operators. In the Port of Barcelona, an investment plan exceeding 156 million euros is allowing for the expansion of operational capacity, incorporation of new large cranes, and adaptation of facilities for next-generation ships. In the Port of Valencia, the commissioning of new ship-to-shore (STS) cranes is already resulting in more agile operations and the ability to simultaneously handle large container ships.
The goal is to offer clients and partners a reliable and consistent service that contributes to more resilient supply chains and more predictable scales, even in demanding environments," explains Julián Fernández, general director of APM Terminals Spanish Gateways.
Adapting terminals to megaships allows for optimizing operation times and managing increasing volumes with less impact on the overall logistics chain.
