The shipping agent Transbull, official agent in the Strait of Gibraltar for the Taiwanese shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp., has participated in the first stop of the container ship YM Worthiness at the Port of Algeciras, coinciding with the inaugural voyage of the vessel. The Chief Operations and Commercial Officer (COO & CCO) of Transbull, Miguel Hormigo Moriche, has been present at the meeting held on the occasion of this stop, where an exchange of plaques took place between the shipping company and the port.

As the official agent of Yang Ming in the Strait, Transbull has been responsible for managing the stop of the YM Worthiness on behalf of the shipping company. Among its duties as a shipping agent are representing the shipping company before the port authority and terminal, coordinating loading and unloading operations, and processing the necessary documentation for the vessel to dock, operate, and depart from the port in accordance with current regulations.

On account of this first stop, the president of the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras, Gerardo Landaluce, and the captain of the vessel, Shankar Ayyar, participated in the traditional plaque exchange. Also present at the meeting were representatives from the container terminal and Transbull, the shipping agent and official agent of Yang Ming in the Strait of Gibraltar area. The YM Worthiness is part of the new series of 15,500 TEUs class container ships by Yang Ming, incorporated by the shipping company as part of its fleet renewal program and reduction of the carbon intensity of its operations. According to Yang Ming's corporate information, this class of vessels has an approximate nominal capacity of 15,600 TEUs, a length of 364.97 meters, and a beam of 51 meters.

The Taiwanese company celebrated in February 2026, at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in Ulsan, the naming ceremony of the first two ships of this series: YM Willpower and YM Worthiness. Yang Ming reported at that time that these units were designed to operate primarily with liquefied natural gas (LNG) and equipped with dual-fuel high-pressure main engines.

The vessel's propulsion system allows for the use of LNG and conventional low-sulfur fuels. The shipping company claims that the use of LNG as the main fuel can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by around 20% compared to conventional marine fuels. Additionally, the main engines and generators incorporate after-treatment systems for exhaust gas to comply with IMO Tier III standards for nitrogen oxide emissions.

The incorporation of this type of units is part of Yang Ming's strategy to progressively adapt its fleet to the environmental demands of international maritime transport. The shipping company has also reported that these vessels integrate satellite-based navigation systems, equipment monitoring, and broadband maritime communications aimed at improving operational safety and data collection during navigation.

In this stop, Transbull's participation as the official agent of Yang Ming in the Strait of Gibraltar has been part of the port coordination and shipping agency associated with the arrival of the vessel. The company maintains its activity linked to the representation of shipping companies and the provision of maritime services in a strategic area for international container traffic.
