LASO Transport has initiated the activity of a new branch in Algeciras, incorporating the Bay into the territorial device from which the company develops conventional and special transport operations, heavy load handling, and project logistics. The opening was made on August 3rd, according to information published by the company.
The company places this establishment within its strategy for expanding the international network and links the choice of Algeciras to its position in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, the proximity to the port complex of the Bay, and the existing connections between Europe and northern Africa.
From the new branch, LASO plans to manage projects related to special transport, heavy lift operations, and other logistics solutions, both in the national market and in international operations. The company notes that the establishment will enable a more operative structure closer to the projects being developed in this geographical area.
The activity of LASO in Algeciras will be directed by Eduardo Puertas Boza, who assumes responsibility for the branch after a trajectory of 26 years linked to the elevation sector. According to data provided by the company, 14 of those years correspond to his professional experience in Africa.
Puertas Boza has stated that the start of LASO's activity in Andalusia will allow him to bring the experience acquired during his professional trajectory to the new project, with the creation of the team and the development of the company’s structure in this area as part of his functions.
The opening in Algeciras expands LASO's structure in Spain. The company's official contact list currently includes, in addition to the new branch in Algeciras, facilities or operational centers in Badajoz, the Basque Country, Madrid, Barcelona, A Coruña, Valencia, and O Porriño.
