The Shyne association (Spanish Hydrogen Network) has announced the incorporation of Moeve and Exolum as new promoting partners of the alliance, which expands the industrial platform dedicated to the development of renewable hydrogen in Spain to nine promoting partners and more than 25 affiliated entities. Both companies join Alsa, Bosch, Enagás, Enagás Renovable, Navantia Seanergies, Repsol, and Talgo in the governance structure of the association.
Shyne is defined as a driving and collaborative platform that integrates the different links of the renewable hydrogen value chain, from production to distribution and final consumption, with the aim of developing large projects that contribute to industrial decarbonization and transportation through this energy vector.
The incorporation of Moeve brings to the alliance a relevant player in the green hydrogen production phase. Its entry into Shyne coincides with the final investment decision to start the first phase of the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley, considered the largest green hydrogen project in southern Europe. This initiative, which involves a total investment exceeding 1 billion euros, also includes the participation of Masdar and Enalter, whose majority shareholder is Enagás Renovable, a promoting partner of Shyne.
Joaquín Rodríguez, Director of Hydrogen & Clean Power at Moeve, has noted that Spain meets the conditions to become a European reference in renewable hydrogen, thanks to its climatic resources, its competitive renewable generation capacity, and developed infrastructures that allow hydrogen production at a competitive cost. Rodríguez added that alliances like the one achieved with Shyne represent for the company a further step in its strategy to lead the production of green molecules at scale in Spain, in order to achieve energy independence, supply security, and industrial competitiveness.
