The SEA-EU Alliance has participated as a collaborating organization at MARLOG 15, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the port ecosystems of the Mediterranean and transforming the maritime-port sector towards a more sustainable and innovative model.
The alliance was represented by its general director, Fernando Pérez, who advocated for the need for ports to evolve from mere actors in the logistics system to strategic partners capable of co-creating training programs tailored to the real needs of the sector. In this context, SEA-EU emphasized the importance of developing official micro-credentials at the European level that allow for the updating of competencies and provide agile responses to the new challenges of the maritime industry.
Collaboration with the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) continues to be consolidated as an example of cooperation between university and port. This synergy facilitates the generation of innovation networks, promotes specialized training, and contributes to the advancement of a more resilient blue economy aligned with the objectives of energy transition.
During the meeting, Luis Núñez, Head of Strategy & European Affairs of the APBA, focused his intervention on Green Corridors and international maritime cooperation, highlighting the essential role of ports in the energy transition, in the development of intelligent logistics corridors, and in improving the efficiency and sustainability of maritime transport.
