The Port Community Association of Algeciras (Comport) held its Ordinary General Assembly with an eye on its upcoming commercial activity in Tokyo and the presentation of the digital version of the Port of Algeciras Handbook as a promotional tool for the companies in the port community. The meeting brought together institutional and business representatives from the sector and served to reaffirm the entity's commitment to the international projection of the Algeciras site.
The president of the association, José Manuel Tejedor, presented during the session the joint work being carried out within Comport to give greater visibility and positioning to the Port of Algeciras and its port community. The presentation of the action plan agreed upon between Comport and the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) for the next semester was led by Javier López, head of the commercial department of the APBA, who detailed the initiatives planned for the coming months.
Among those initiatives is the commercial action of the Port of Algeciras and its port community that will take place in Tokyo (Japan), aimed at promoting services to ships. The action aims to generate new business opportunities for companies operating in the bay and to continue the commercial work that the entity and the APBA have been developing in recent years in the Asian market, with the goal of strengthening the sector's position in that geographical area.
The assembly also served to assess the activities carried out during the last year, with special attention to participation in national and international fairs and meetings that cover all segments of activity, both logistics and ship services. Internally, members approved the financial statements for the 2025 fiscal year, the budgets, and fees for the current year, and the incorporation of new members into the association.
