Spanish ports received 14,105,784 cruise passengers throughout 2025, representing an increase of 9.8% compared to the previous year and setting a new historical record for the national port system. The figure significantly exceeds the 12,846,810 cruise passengers recorded in 2024, a mark that already constituted the best data to date and was surpassed in November.

According to statistics published by Ports of the State, the growth is even more notable regarding the number of vessels. During 2025, a total of 5,373 cruise ships docked at Spanish ports, that is, 669 more than in the previous year, representing an increase of 14.2%. In 2024, the number of port calls was at 4,700 vessels, 6.7% more than in 2023, a period in which the sector had already managed to exceed pre-pandemic levels.

The total passenger traffic at Spanish ports, including both cruise passengers and users of regular lines, reached 42.5 million people in 2025, 4% more than in the previous year. Of this total volume, 28.4 million corresponded to regular line passengers, with an increase of 1.4%, while the remaining 14.1 million were cruise passengers.

The Port of Barcelona remained the undisputed leader of the sector in Spain, with 3,999,258 cruise passengers, 9.4% more than in 2024. The Catalan capital thus consolidates its position as one of the main cruise destinations in the Mediterranean and Europe. In second place were the Balearic ports, which totaled 2,574,199 cruise passengers, growing by 2.9% compared to the previous year.

The Canary ports recorded significant increases during 2025. Las Palmas received 2,090,032 cruise passengers, 11.3% more, while Santa Cruz de Tenerife reached 1,642,960 cruise passengers, representing a notable increase of 24.6%, the highest among the major Spanish ports in the sector.

Regarding the number of cruise calls, Las Palmas topped the ranking with 916 vessels, 24.6% more than in 2024. It was followed by Barcelona with 894 cruise ships (+13%), Balearic Islands with 791 (+2.2%), and Santa Cruz de Tenerife with 725 calls, a 22.9% increase compared to the previous year.

Among the ports on the mainland, Valencia ranked fifth nationally with 799,050 cruise passengers, 3.2% more than in 2024. Cádiz, for its part, recorded 624,476 passengers, representing a decrease of 10.3% compared to the previous year, being the only port among the main ones that experienced a decline in cruise passenger volume. Málaga closed the leading group with 570,481 passengers, after experiencing growth of 21.4%.
