The index combines two analytical approaches applied to container ship calls, stratified by ship size and call size. The result describes the port as a whole, never an individual terminal.

Weather, draught, tides, fleet mix, diverted routes, geopolitical crises and global congestion.
Revisable series
EED keeps every edition and the original annex. If the World Bank re-estimates a previous year, both values remain auditable.
