The Junta of Andalusia will promote the nautical offer of the autonomous community at the Southampton International Boat Show, which will be held from September 18 to 27 at the port of this English locality. Participation is channeled through the Public Ports Agency of Andalusia (APPA), dependent on the Ministry of Development and Mobility, with the aim of presenting the network of nautical-sport facilities in the region to the British market.
Ports of Andalusia will have a booth in the New Wave Hall tent, specifically at stand H202, where it will share space with Marinas of Andalusia. The joint presence will allow for showcasing the characteristics of Andalusian sports ports and their service offerings for recreational vessels during the ten days of the show.
Andalusia currently has more than 18,000 berths distributed among 61 nautical-sport facilities located along its coastline. This infrastructure stretches along a coast of more than 900 kilometers and constitutes the basis of the offer that the regional administration will present during the British event.
The Andalusian participation will focus part of its activity on raising awareness of the characteristics of these facilities, their services, and the existing conditions for recreational navigation. Among the aspects that will be part of the promotion are the sustainable management of the ports, weather conditions, the extent of the coastline, and the proximity of the facilities to areas of historical, natural, and cultural interest.
The Junta will also direct its presence in Southampton toward the possibilities of the Andalusian sports ports for vessels in transit, wintering periods, and base stays. The connections of Andalusia with the British market and the navigation conditions of its coasts are part of the arguments that the regional administration will convey to professionals and users during the show.
The Southampton International Boat Show this year reaches its 57th edition as one of the main European events dedicated to recreational vessels and water sports. The meeting brings together hundreds of exhibitors from different countries and combines commercial exhibition with professional activities and demonstrations related to the nautical sector.
One of the main spaces of the show will once again be the floating marina specifically constructed for the event. This infrastructure has the capacity to accommodate more than 300 vessels, including sailboats, yachts, high-speed units, and auxiliary vessels.
The program is completed with workshops, boat tests in the water, presentations of new models, and activities aimed at both professionals and the general public. This combination allows for bringing together manufacturers, distributors, operators of nautical facilities, service providers, and users of recreational navigation in one venue.
For the Junta, participation in Southampton is part of its strategy to promote Andalusian nautical tourism in European markets. Within this line of action, the United Kingdom occupies a priority position due to the volume of enthusiasts and users linked to recreational navigation.
The presence of the APPA alongside Marinas of Andalusia also seeks to convey a joint image of the existing offer in the community's coastline to the British market. The network includes facilities with different characteristics and capacities distributed across the coastal provinces of Andalusia, from the Atlantic coast to the Mediterranean.
The British market also has a direct relationship with some of the usage modalities that the Junta intends to promote, especially vessel transits, extended stays, and wintering. The regional administration considers that the weather and existing communications allow offering alternatives for vessels seeking base facilities or stops during their routes.
Participation in Southampton will present this offer directly to operators, companies, and users from one of the European markets with the greatest nautical tradition. During the show, the Andalusian representation will disseminate information about the network of sports ports, their services, and the navigation possibilities associated with the more than 900 kilometers of coastline of the community.
