The transportation and logistics company Calsina Carré has launched a new logistics hub in the municipality of San Roque (Cádiz), called Calsina Carré Services Algeciras. This facility is designed to provide value-added services to carriers in the Strait of Gibraltar area.
The center is located 15 kilometers from the Port of Algeciras, which acts as the main maritime connection node between the European continent and the Maghreb. The infrastructure has been developed to meet the demand for safe and efficient spaces dedicated to international transport in this geographical axis.
The facilities include a monitored parking lot with a capacity for 190 spaces, which has a certified approval under European Union standards. This space is designed for the custody of vehicles and goods, as well as for the rest of drivers during their route planning.
The facility includes operational and service areas that incorporate showers, laundry, rest areas, vending machines, wifi connection, a prayer room, and spaces designated for the preparation and consumption of meals for staff on the road.
Furthermore, the logistics hub is adapted for managing different transport modes. It has reserved areas for vehicles transporting hazardous goods under ADR regulations, specific connections to maintain supply in refrigerated equipment, and charging points for electric vehicles.
This project continues the development line of Calsina Carré Services, which began its activity with the opening in 2022 of a center in Pont de Molins, a facility that registers a daily movement of over 1,000 vehicles.
With this initiative, the company, which has two decades of operational experience in the Strait of Gibraltar, concentrates its investments in the Campo de Gibraltar region. The services of this new space are available for both the company's own fleet and for external carriers.
The future development plan for this site includes the incorporation of a technical supply station that will offer different fuels, with options including biofuels. The project also foresees the construction of a logistics warehouse prepared for cross-docking operations, offices for the management of customs services, a mechanical maintenance workshop, and a wash tunnel for industrial vehicles.
