Intellian Technologies has introduced a new range of satellite maritime connectivity solutions aimed at commercial operators, dual-use applications, and military and government clients at SMM 2026, held in Hamburg.
The company participates in the fair with its portfolio of flat panels for Eutelsat's LEO OneWeb constellation, terminals compatible with multi-orbit hybrid services, and new equipment intended for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, GMDSS.
Among the main highlights is the European presentation of a new GMDSS console, along with the C200M and C100M systems approved with MED Wheelmark for Iridium Certus. Intellian notes that the console is delivered assembled, pre-wired, and factory tested, with the aim of simplifying its integration in shipyards.
The system can be installed alongside VHF and MF/HF Class A radios and Intellian's Navtex equipment, which will also be showcased during SMM before its anticipated commercialization later this year.
The company positions this offering within a regulated market that, according to its estimates, affects more than 80,000 vessels worldwide required to meet GMDSS requirements. Intellian also indicates that it offers specific terminals for various levels of Iridium Certus service.
In the field of satellite communications, Intellian showcases its range of maritime flat panels for OneWeb, designed for operators who require high transmission capacities, low latency, and compact equipment.
These terminals can be used as independent LEO solutions and also form part of NexusWave, Inmarsat's multi-orbit hybrid architecture. Within this configuration, the panels provide the low-latency LEO component.
For the GEO part, Intellian presents the VS60 terminal, a maritime equipment of 65 centimeters intended to work with the ViaSat-3 constellation. According to the company, this is the only terminal of this size currently available for this system.
Intellian also claims to be the only antenna manufacturer providing hardware for the entire NexusWave architecture, enabling the combination of different bands and orbits within the same maritime connectivity service.
The strategy responds to the growing use of hybrid solutions in fleets that require greater redundancy, service continuity, and the ability to combine different satellite networks based on available coverage and operational needs.
The company has also dedicated part of its presence at SMM to dual-use applications. Among the displayed equipment are the OW11FM and OW10HM maritime flat panels, in addition to the portable OW7MP Manpack antenna, designed for operations in motion or from temporary positions.
This product line is aimed at commercial, institutional, and defense needs that require satellite communication capabilities with varying levels of mobility and deployment.
Intellian's presence at SMM also includes its participation, on September 2, in a roundtable dedicated to the potential of dual-use maritime technologies as an opportunity for established companies in the sector.
The SMM 2026 fair thus serves as a showcase for the combination of three areas that Intellian considers strategic: multi-orbit satellite connectivity, maritime security through GMDSS systems, and dual-use applications for civil and governmental environments.
The company presents these solutions in pavilion B6 of the Hamburg fairgrounds, during an edition of SMM focused largely on digitalization, communications, security, and new technologies applied to maritime operations.
