Nerja, the most charming town in the Spanish coast


The municipality from Malaga, Nerja, has been chosen as the ‘Coast Town with Most Charming In Spain 2016’, a distinction given by Hotel Info, according to the users votes in this touristic search website.

That is how it has been assured from the local government in Nerja on an statement, in which it is pointed that the locality has beaten Ortigueira and Rota, second and third, respectively, with a total of 5.173 votes, 4.016 votes of La Coruña and 2.119 ones from Cadiz.

Nerja had been chosen for the final phase of the contest ‘The most charming coast towns in Spain’, with the challenge of getting this distinction which fight for against other 26 localities with less of 35.000 inhabitants.

Apart from Nerja, the municipalities Alcanar, Altea, Benicarlo, Cadaques, Conil, Cudillero, Deba, Hondarribia, Lekeitiom Llanes, Luarca, Mojacar, Navia, Orio Ortigueira, Pasaia, Puerto del Rosario, Ribadeo, Ribadesella, Rota, San Javier, San Vicente de la Barquera, Sant Antonio, Santoña, Tossa de Mar and Zumaia had been selected.

Form the Board of Tourism, they thanked all who have voted for Nerja, as well as to the Commonwealth of Municipalities from Costa del Sol Axarquia, for their support to the campaign launched from the Local Government in Nerja.
