The SIL Barcelona, the international fair of reference in logistics, transport, intralogistics, and supply chain organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), will celebrate its twenty-eighth edition from June 3 to 5 with a knowledge program that will feature more than 250 speakers and seven content areas dedicated to technical sessions, debates, interviews, workshops, and panels of various kinds. Under the slogan "Intelligent solutions that move the world," artificial intelligence and its application to the supply chain will take a leading role in the agenda of the fair.
The executive president of the CZFB and SIL Barcelona, Pere Navarro, has pointed out that artificial intelligence and data analytics are considered the most relevant technologies for the next three years according to the Barometer of the Logistics Circle 2026, a survey in which more than 1,000 directors and logistics managers participated. Navarro indicated that the SIL will address these trends and the opportunities they present for the sector with the participation of expert voices in technology applied to the supply chain.
The SIL Lab and IA Corner spaces will host presentations of case studies and in-depth sessions on the multiple applications of artificial intelligence and other technologies in the logistics field. Among the application areas that will be discussed are demand forecasting, management of stockouts, operational efficiency in warehouses, optimization of loads and routes in the last mile, maintenance of controlled temperature in the cold chain, prevention of occupational risks in logistics environments, cybersecurity, and talent acquisition in the sector.
Alongside artificial intelligence, the other major thematic block of the program will focus on the impact of the global geopolitical context on international trade and the supply chain. The SIL will dedicate specific sessions to the functioning of global supply chains in scenarios of regional tensions, the sector's response to current disruptions, the transformation of trade, trade conflicts, new opportunities arising from recent trade agreements, air cargo flows in the new international context, customs changes and their effect on transport, strategic connectivity in the Mediterranean, and the reconfiguration of the global economic order.
The general director of the CZFB and SIL Barcelona, Blanca Sorigué, has noted that the fair, representing the entire supply chain, constitutes the meeting point of the sector and the forum where the aspects that concern companies, the challenges they face, and the solutions applied to different scenarios are addressed. Sorigué indicated that during the three days of the fair, companies, speakers, and visitors will be able to share their concerns in open and participatory dialogue spaces.
The SIL Knowledge program will also cover other areas of interest for the sector, such as the growth of e-commerce and the challenges of the last mile, smart mobility, sustainability and connectivity in large cities, corridors and railway infrastructures, new inmologistics developments, the comprehensive digitalization of the supply chain, and strategies for talent acquisition and retention in the logistics field.
Among the confirmed speakers are Sara Hernández, Secretary General of Sustainable Mobility of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility; Markus Mau, President of the European Logistics Association; Godfried Smit, Secretary General of the European Shippers' Council; Leonardo González, President of ALACAT; Matthew Tang, Senior Manager of E-Commerce Operations and Cargo at IATA; Tomás Vázquez, Head of the Air Cargo Development Division at AENA; Cristian Oller, Senior Vice President of Asset Management for Southern Europe at Prologis; Alfonso Martínez, Director of Leasing and Logistics Development at Merlin Properties; and Pablo Vilanova, General Director of Mercabarna, among other representatives from logistics, technology, and transport companies and organizations.
Free registration for the fair remains open until Friday, May 22. After that date, access to SIL Barcelona with the Full Pass will cost 60 euros.
