The main actors in the European port sector will gather on May 7 and 8 in Gdansk for the 22nd edition of the conference organized by the European Sea Ports Organisation, considered the main annual forum of the port industry in Europe.
Under the slogan "Competitiveness as a driver of resilience", the meeting will address how European ports can cope with the current context of geopolitical and economic uncertainty without losing sight of decarbonization and sustainability objectives.
The conference will bring together experts in maritime, energy, and geopolitical fields who will analyze key issues such as European competitiveness, attracting investments, energy network congestion, access to critical raw materials, or the role of artificial intelligence in the sector's transformation.
In addition, executives from European ports will share their experiences in different panels focused on adapting to changes in the global environment and seeking more resilient models.
The event will also serve to discuss community policies, especially following the recent publication of the European Union's port strategy. In this context, institutional leaders such as Magda Kopczyńska, director general of Mobility and Transport, as well as members of the European Parliament and the TEN-T coordinator for the European maritime space, Gesine Meissner, will participate.
As usual, the conference will be held alongside the General Assembly of ESPO and will offer networking opportunities among attendees. The program will also include social activities, including a dinner in the historic shipyard of Gdansk.
The organization has noted that this year's edition has sparked great interest in the sector, with high demand for registrations to participate in one of the key meetings of the European port calendar.
