NextPort has been included in the 2026 edition of the Thetius Top 150, the annual selection with which the research firm Thetius identifies organizations linked to technological innovation within the maritime industry.
The company has announced its inclusion in the group of startups and scale-ups selected this year and has thanked Thetius for its inclusion in the list. The 2026 edition features a total of 150 organizations divided into four categories: 50 startups and scale-ups, 50 small and medium-sized enterprises, 35 large corporations, and 15 public bodies and non-profit entities.
Thetius explains that its analysts have examined over 5,400 organizations to compile this year's selection, taking into account their activity over the previous twelve months and the information collected through its research platform Thetius IQ. The 2026 edition is the fifth since the creation of this report.
NextPort develops solutions aimed at ports and terminals based on digital twins and data treatment. The company itself explains that its platform integrates information, processes, and operating systems to facilitate operation monitoring and provide information that can be used for both daily management and medium- to long-term decision-making. Its website currently defines NextPort as a spin-off of the engineering firm Moffatt & Nichol.
The company notes that the growing amount of data available at ports and terminals coincides with a more complex operating environment, conditioned by factors such as supply chain disruptions, traffic evolution, and infrastructure and equipment planning needs. Its technology aims to gather information from different sources and convert it into usable data to understand the operation of activities and anticipate potential incidents.
NextPort's presence in Thetius's selection also has precedents. The company was already included among the 50 maritime startups and scale-ups in the 2024 edition. On that occasion, Thetius referred to its work related to predicting truck movements in Valencia and participation in the Ports 4.0 program with digital twin projects in Algeciras, Santander, and Huelva.
NextPort appeared again in the 2025 Top 150. The report for that year placed it among the group of startups and included, among the activities considered by Thetius, its developments of digital twins for ports and terminals, its connection with the International Taskforce Port Call Optimisation, and projects developed with terminal operators.
