Exolum closed 2025 with an increase in its logistics activity in Spain and an improvement in its main economic results. The volume of petroleum products withdrawn from its system reached 49.4 million cubic meters, a 1.6% increase compared to the previous year, while the group's EBITDA in the country stood at 604.2 million euros, with a year-on-year increase of 3.6%.
The data appears in the informative bulletin of the logistics activity of liquid hydrocarbons of the Exolum Group in Spain corresponding to 2025, published by the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC).
Exolum is the main logistics operator of liquid hydrocarbons in Spain. The company manages the only national pipeline network, consisting of more than 4,000 kilometers of pipelines and 39 storage facilities, with a combined capacity of around eight million cubic meters. It also provides storage and fuel supply services at more than 30 airport facilities.
The global outflows of petroleum products from the Exolum system exceeded the pre-pandemic figures for the second consecutive year. Of the total volume accounted for in 2025, gasoline and diesel accounted for 38.5 million cubic meters, a 1.2% increase compared to 2024.
Within this category, the withdrawals of fuels intended for automotive use represented 83% of the volume and increased by 0.5%. The outflows of diesel B, mainly used in agricultural, fishing, and certain industrial applications, grew by 2.1%, while those of diesel C recorded an increase of 9.7%.
On the other hand, the withdrawals of aviation fuels, fuel oils, and IFO, fuels primarily used in air and maritime transport, together amounted to 10.9 million cubic meters. This figure represents an increase of 2.8% compared to the previous year.
The total activity carried out by Exolum's own transportation means reached 44.9 million tons in 2025, a 1.9% increase compared to the previous year. The evolution was uneven depending on the mode used for the movement of products.
Pipelines recorded a growth of 3.2%, while the activity by tankers increased by 41.2%. Conversely, the volume transported by pipeline decreased by 1.2%, and that corresponding to tanker trucks was reduced by 9.4%, according to data collected by the regulatory body.
The average volume of petroleum products stored in the company's facilities decreased by 5.8% compared to 2024. Minimum safety stocks continued to concentrate the majority of storage, accounting for 67.5% of the total.
These reserves are part of the obligations established to ensure energy supply in situations of supply interruption or market disturbances. By product, diesel fuels maintained the largest share within the stored inventories, accounting for 69% of the total volume.
In economic terms, the after-tax profit of the Exolum Group in Spain amounted to 386 million euros, a 1.9% increase compared to 2024. Revenues linked to commercial logistics continued to be the company's main source of business, accounting for 60% of operating income and a year-on-year growth of 1.5%.
For gasoline and diesel, the average effective price of consignment services reached 0.997 cents per liter, a 1.9% increase compared to the previous year. According to the CNMC, this amount represented 0.7% of the average retail price recorded in 2025 for 95 octane gasoline and diesel A.
The investments made by Exolum in Spain amounted to 119.8 million euros, representing a 66.2% increase compared to 2024. 40.6% of this amount was allocated to actions related to safety, the environment, regulatory compliance, and the integrity of infrastructure.
The remaining 59.4% corresponded to commercial investments, including those linked to the development of new lines of business. The distribution of resources reflects the emphasis on actions aimed at both maintaining the logistics network and diversifying the company's activities.
The CNMC oversees third-party access to fixed transportation and storage facilities for liquid hydrocarbons in Spain, in accordance with the provisions established in the Hydrocarbons Sector Law. This oversight aims to ensure that access occurs under transparent, objective, and non-discriminatory conditions.
The agency also publishes the prices and conditions applied by logistics companies. Its supervisory work encompasses all holders of liquid hydrocarbons storage facilities, although the monitoring of Exolum gains specific relevance due to its status as the main logistics operator in the country and the scope of its transportation and storage network.
