A representation from the Cádiz Investment Hub and the Confederation of Business of the province of Cádiz (CEC) participated this week in a professional mission in Sines (Portugal), a reference area for port and industrial logistics in that country. The visit, of a technical nature, is part of the NEXOMAR project, aimed at cooperation between Atlantic territories and identifying opportunities in strategic sectors.
The Cádiz participation responds to the roadmap of Cádiz Investment Hub, an office promoted by the CEC with funding from the Diputación de Cádiz, with the aim of identifying reference models, consolidating international alliances, and opening lines of collaboration that can generate business opportunities for the province.
The province of Cádiz and the Sines area share a strategic Atlantic position, a strong connection with port and maritime activity, and a shared interest in the opportunities presented by the energy transition and industrial decarbonization. In this context, collaboration possibilities have been identified in areas such as European projects, knowledge exchange, and the development of technological solutions.
The mission, held on June 1 and 2, included working meetings with project partners, institutional representatives, and entities related to innovation, energy transition, port logistics, blue economy, and technological security. The agenda also included technical visits to strategic infrastructures in Sines, with special attention to spaces related to innovation and port cybersecurity. Among the facilities visited were HyLab, a laboratory for innovation and development in green hydrogen, and Sines Tecnopolo, a hub of the Alentejo innovation ecosystem.
The Cádiz Investment Hub has positively assessed the participation, as it allowed firsthand knowledge of initiatives that may be of interest to the province, in areas such as green hydrogen, smart ports, blue economy, cybersecurity applied to port environments, and cooperation among business ecosystems and researchers. The platform considers that this action represents a further step in building an international agenda aimed at positioning the province of Cádiz as a territory of opportunities for investment, innovation, and business cooperation.
