Algetransit has attended the XI Hispano-Moroccan Meeting of the Automotive Industry, held on April 22 and 23 in Tangier under the motto "Resilience, Innovation, and Alliances: the engines of Hispano-Moroccan automotive cooperation." The company was represented by its commercial director, Maruan Boukchabe, at a meeting that brought together manufacturers, suppliers, institutions, and organizations from the sector, including AMICA, the Moroccan Association of the Automotive Industry and Construction.

The meeting was organized by the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Morocco-Tangier, Nador, Kenitra, with the intervention of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Morocco, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Automotive Industry, and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE). The inauguration was led by the ambassador of Spain in Morocco, Enrique Ojeda Vila, and the president of the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Morocco-Tangier-Nador, José Estévez.

Maruan Boukchabe valued participation in the forum in commercial terms and in relation to Algetransit's current clientele. "Today we participated in AMICA to continue strengthening our presence in the automotive sector. It has been an excellent opportunity to reconnect with highly relevant clients, generate new contacts, and continue consolidating relationships that allow us to keep growing," stated the commercial director. Boukchabe added that the company maintains its commitment "to closeness, trust, and a service of the highest quality" for clients and collaborators.

Algetransit's participation responds to the growing demand for specialized logistics solutions for the automotive industry, a segment in which the company has been expanding its specialization with the aim of offering a more agile and efficient service. The automotive sector accounts for a substantial part of vehicle and component traffic between the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa through the Strait of Gibraltar.

The XI Meeting included two business presentations by the heads of the production plants of Renault in Tangier and Somaca, as well as Stellantis. Several plenary sessions centered on reconfiguring value chains and industrial competitiveness, investment, sustainability and regulatory framework, human capital, and industrial logistics were held thereafter. The General Director of the Automotive Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Morocco, Ayda Fathi, intervened to position the country as the leading car producer in Africa, with a capacity aimed at reaching one million vehicles annually, and to remind that the automotive industry is Morocco's leading export sector, with more than 15 billion euros in sales abroad last year.

The Moroccan industrial fabric already has more than 250 supplying companies and employs over 200,000 people, with production reaching 700,000 vehicles the previous year, mainly concentrated in the plants of Renault and Stellantis. In addition, there is the future factory of the Chinese manufacturer BYD in Tangier, with a projected capacity of more than 100,000 electric vehicles annually starting in 2026. More than 70 Spanish suppliers operate in the main industrial hubs of Tangier and Kenitra, integrated into the local value chain.
